Rebounding

Rebounding is a product not of great athletic ability, but attitude and desire. Make up your mind that you want to rebound, go after every ball, and master box out techniques.  The key to rebounding is positioning and concentration on the ball. Anticipate the flight of the ball. Remember that most shots rebound to the opposite side of where they were shot. Box your man out and concentrate on the ball until it is secured in your hands or rebounded by someone else. Always keep your hands up at least shoulder high when getting ready to rebound. This will allow you to be ready for the rebound that comes off the rim quicker than expected. Remember: shot goes up – hands go up! You are now on your way to rebounding prowess.

Prep School Education for Kare Members

Kare Youth League’s schools, Pearl Prep and Rio Hondo Prep, invite all KYL parents to informal on-campus information meetings in February. The information meetings will cover curriculum, student activities, school philosophy, application steps, and finance.  Any interested family should call to reserve a seat during normal school hours. For Pearl call (626) 442-7737. For Rio Hondo Prep call (626) 444-9531. Pearl, Kare’s elementary school, provides dynamic primary education for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The Pearl information meeting is February 25 at 7:00 at the Pearl campus in El Monte. Child care is provided. Rio Hondo Prep, fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, serves grades six through 12. The Rio Hondo meeting is on February 18 at 7:30 at Rio’s campus – the same site as Kare/Arcadia.
