Breakfast with Santa is on… rain or shine
Santa Claus makes his annual visit to Kare Youth League at “Breakfast With Santa” on December 12 in Arcadia. The event is indoors, so it’s on rain or shine. Children and their parents can enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast, play Christmas themed games in Santa Land, take a turn in the moon bounce, do a Christmas craft and get a color picture with old St. Nick. The game schedule for that day will be adjusted so everyone can attend.

Football seasons on the brink

It’s crunch time as the Kare Youth League football season finishes with a flurry of playoff and championship games.
Playoffs are on Saturday setting up championships on December 5. Here are the Interleaguer’s top four story lines as the season comes to a close.

#1 – Can Tar Heel Bs stay perfect?
The Tar Heel Bs are Kare’s only unbeaten and united team heading into the postseason. They must get through Georgia then the Kentucky/FSU winner to remain that way.

#2 – Seminoles and Hurricanes on
collision course in AA Division
Florida State and Miami sit atop the AA Division and are heavy favorites in their playoff games to set up a huge championship showdown. Miami’s only loss this season came at the hands of the Seminoles.

#3 – AAA Division totally up for grabs
While it appears the Seminoles are the heavy favorite with their 6-1 record that isn’t necessarily the case. The Tar Heels, whom they face in the playoffs, beat them once already and lost by just a touchdown to their intra-park rivals last Saturday. Georgia is the defending champ and must get by a pesky Wildcat bunch in order to get a shot at defending their title.

#4 – Pac-10 looks like battle of the East
USC and UCLA, both from Covina, will face off in championship assuming the Bruins can handle Cal in the playoffs. Due to their seven game cushion on fourth place Stanford USC doesn’t have to play a playoff game.

The East streak continues

The East took four of six games at the Future Bowl on November 10 extending its Future Bowl unbeaten streak to 17 years.
